[ABOUT MOI]

Geeky Mama
Yep. That's me, the Geeky Mama. My kids call me mom, mama, mommy and sometimes, "Urrrgghhh". I answer to all (well, maybe not that last one). I am a mom of 3, a wife and a dog lover. I love to knit, crochet, sew and craft. I'm a blogger, website designer and I prefer gadgets over jewelry for any gift occasion. Over all, I love my family.
I am the chairperson of a nonprofit organization, Loudoun Allergy Network, which supports, educates and advocates for families living with food and other anaphylactic allergies, a deadly disability. Two of my three children suffer from anaphylaxis. Because of the delicate nature of my kids needs, I could not return to work as a customer support representative for an office solutions company. My nonprofit is completely run by volunteers and I do not get paid for our work. So now I work from home.
I began designing websites in 2007 when I decided to take my sewing hobby and make it into a business. I tried to outsource the service and quickly found that many web solutions were outrageously expensive! Therefore, I took matters into my own hands and taught myself the art of HTML and CSS. I started designing websites for friends. Then it extended to websites for Etsy shop owners. From there I evolved to Blogger design. As the years went by, I become more experienced and decided that web designing was my thing. I closed my online hobby shop and Geeky Mama Web Solutions was born.
